Brain Wave Experiment Test Gear (1985)

Brain-wave control experiment test gear. Visual stimulation is achieved with goggles or room lights plugged into the AC outlet. Audio stimulation from earphones or speakers can be ocean waves from a tape deck (top center), a wave-shape generator (lower left), or white noise from the ELF generator (top left). The stimulation frequency is displayed on the ELF counter (right of the generator). An audio preamplifier under the ELF counter and AC power rheostat on top of the AC outlets control the intensity of audio and visual stimulation.

Brain-wave generator and extreme low frequency (ELF) counter designed and built by the author (1985). These units control the phase and frequency of brain-wave stimulation. Because of safety concerns, only audio and visual stimulation were used by the author. Ultrasonic, magnetic, and radio frequency stimulation could have been used, but they may have side effects.
